I've been away from just about everything in my life for the last week. Firstly, I lost (or had stolen) my phone on New Year's. Last Monday morning I found out a very close friend of mine had passed away and I shut down completely and am still not 100% - I'm not sure I ever will be. I'm slowly sorting various parts of my life out and will be back blogging soon. My laptop is unable to connect to the internet for whatever strange reason so I'm having to use my boyfriend's computer when I can get to it. So...as soon as I have a new phone, my laptop sorted and my life back on track I'll be here full force again. Until then, I will do my very best to be as normal.
Wishing everyone a wonderful start to the New Year!
(Small blog sale coming up - Stila, Chloe perfume, Urban Decay and a few other bits)

Apologies...
Lack of posts is down to me spending 12-14 hours a day at work or getting to/from work! Boy and I are saving up to move so I'm taking on all I can get at the moment, meaning the blog is suffering big time. I'm getting round to posting a few reviews including my first impressions of Mario Badescu skincare and a tutorial for a silver smoky eye. I feel a little funny about tutorials since I don't feel like I have much to offer in the way of "teaching" but I've had a few requests for them and think they might be fun to do all the same.
Forgive me! There is a reason behind my disappearance, I'm not just being lazy.
How is everyone? Enjoying the run up to Christmas?
Be well xx

Busy Sunday + P5P update
As per usual, my Sunday was full of things to do. Laundry, dishes, chasing cats out of places they shouldn't be, researching places John and I might like to move to and a little bit of work. I'd intended to sleep in but of course Mimi decided she wanted a cuddle so rubbed her nose all over my face, then nipped my bottom lip. So it's quarter to 2 in the afternoon now and I've long finished the house work and looked at just about every area of South London and still haven't decided on where we want to move to. Now all that's left is to finish my write up on an event I attended for work called Blog for Sales. Very interesting; gave me lots of insight into how much power bloggers really have...and how much money some of them earn!
One more thing I'd intended to do today was place an order with BeautyBay.com. I won a voucher a while ago and have been saving up some money in my PayPal account to make a big purchase of Mario Badescu skincare and the RMK cleansing oil (still not violating P5P!) but then found out that they don't accept PayPal! My own stupid fault for not checking. I hope that I haven't lost my voucher! I entered it but didn't complete checkout. We'll see. I'll be placing my order on Wednesday or Thursday instead.
Speaking of wins, I very unexpectedly won Sarah's DKNY Be Delicious giveaway! It's my birthday week, perhaps the Gods are sending me luck this year.
Friday and Saturday were both eventful. We headed to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to meet a 12 week old Husky/Lab cross puppy. He was extremely playful and absolutely STUNNING! We then headed out to the depths of the Kent countryside to set off fireworks and start a gigantic bonfire. A women's bike club + fireworks = good times. Always.

Saturday, John's mum brought the puppy home! He settled in really well and plays nicely with a friend's adult Alsatian! Pup really holds his own too! Because of how big he's going to be and his breed history, he's going to be a working dog as well as a pet and will help John's mum down the allotments. For now, we're all concentrating on getting him well trained - he's very intelligent - and getting the cats used to him!

Cream crackered after lots of playtime!
Saturday evening - more fires and fireworks...and lots of food. All the cuttings from where we were preparing the allotments for winter (as well as lots of scrap wood) went on a huge bonfire. John had fun setting off fireworks and actually managed to get a Catherine Wheel to spin properly! TWICE!

Project 5 Pan is coming along nicely. I managed to finish my Revlon ColorStay foundation yesterday meaning there's just the eyeshadow duo and UDPP left! I predict I will finish these by the end of the month meaning I can still snap up lots of Christmas deals and goodies in the January sales!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a safe bonfire night!
xx

I have made a decision...
I am going to conquer my fear of eyelash curlers and false lashes. I am going to add some lash curlers to my Christmas wishlist and attempt falsies this week.
BTW - Actual fear. Not a joke.
I've spoken about this quite a few times on my blog and whenever I read my posts out to myself in my head, I become aware of how insane slash ridiculous I am.
So that's it. I've decided.
Last time I tried (and failed) using a lash curler, I cried for 25 minutes and had to lay down.
I'm so doing this you know.
When I last had falsies applied, they ripped out half my eyelashes when I removed them. Yes, I used eye makeup remover and soaked them. Made no difference.
So yeah...I'm doing this.
If you don't see a post from me in the next few days, I'm probably sat in a corner somewhere hyperventilating with a pair of lash curlers and falsies in the middle of the room.
Haul: Lush & Glamour (and rambling)
After a particularly traumatic experience on the tram home from work (when you're wedged between 2 sweaty, dusty builders guts and a 14 year old kid who thinks wearing 4 gallons of eau de Lynx will bring all the girls to the yard...you'd think it was traumatic too) I decided to pop into Lush and pick up a few relaxants.
I hold my hands up: I've never bought anything from their Karma range. The scent always interested me but for some reason I never purchased anything. It may have been because everyone raves about it and I didn't want to be let down. Shame on me. I digress.

I bought Karma bubble bar, Blue Skies & Fluffy White Clouds bubble bar and Happy Blooming bath melt. Then had a chat with the Lush staff since the place was empty. Strange for a late-night-shopping Thursday evening.
I also browsed through WHSmiths and picked up a couple of Glamour magazines. You'll know by now that this month's Glamour is offering a free Nails Inc polish. I got Hampstead Heath and Jermyn Street. It wouldn't be a trip to 'Smiths without picking up chocolate they ever so sneakily line the queues with. I got a Minty Terry's Chocolate Orange and a White Chocolate Smasher. The white chocolate one was gone by the time we got home...hence the pic of the wrapper...
We then hot footed it to Superdrug to pick up a Bad Girl palette for Alicia and I saw they had my favourite deodorant on offer at 99p! Swiped up two of those. It's more or less the only product I can use from Dove's entire range.
Oh! And how crappy did I feel when I went along with my boyfriend and his little brother to donate blood. I sat in the corner with my magazines and chocolate, smelling of Lush and wearing some ridiculously overpriced boots like the selfish, materialistic, non-blood-donating person I am...and the bloke signing people in looks up and says "Would you like to come and sign in love?" AHH! "Umm...no I'm just waiting, thank you." What I should've said is "I'm a terrible person who's going to sit here, read her magazines and keep her blood all to herself!" I haven't donated blood since the first time I did it at 18. The nurse taking it coughed all over me and didn't tell me what was going on at all. I then passed out as soon as I left the church hall. The NHS seem to have stepped up their game so in a few months time when they go and donate again, I'll make an appointment too.
Where do you go or what do you do to relax after a stressful day? For me: a bath, the TV and a box of old photographs is hands down my favourite way to unwind.
